IN-PERSON SMALL GROUP PROGRAM
Despite online youth going well, we can’t deny the desire students and leaders have to meet in-person. Taking into consideration the current health order from our government, there is a section that talks about “Youth Extracurricular Activities” and how youth recreational activities are able to happen under certain guidelines. With this in mind, we are so excited to be launching our in-person Small Group Program!
Youth will still be livestreamed via YouTube each week, but instead of students watching from home, they will have the opportunity to gather in-person with their small group to watch together. This provides more intentionally and also a more exciting experience by being together. Locations for these will be in different facilities throughout the Comox Valley. Stay tuned for these small group locations to be posted on Sunday, February 14th.
Junior Youth will be on Tuesdays 6-7:30PM, and High School Youth will be on Wednesdays, 6-7:30PM as well. **Note, for High School the time is shifted back an hour from when it was before.
REGISTRATION & WAIVERS
In order for youth to meet and run in-person, all students must register and have a waiver form signed by their parent/gaurdian. This is for the purpose of contact tracing, limited capacities, and safety purposes. To register, continue scrolling down the page. **Note, if a parent/gaurdian have already filled out a waiver form since the beginning of the school year there is no need to fill out another one.
We are so excited to be working our way towards full, in-person gatherings again. With this model we can simultaneously have our youth ministry for students online and in-person. If students & parents don't feel comfortable meeting in-person, we will still have the livestream and ZOOM small groups available for them at the same times.
COVID-19 SAFTEY PLAN
We want to be proactive in the ways we carry out in-person ministry. In this time we want to be creative and intentional, yet wise. As far as priority goes, we have to remember that ministry that is not conducted in a considerate manner, is not ministry at all. With this in mind, as a community, we must act in safe ways that minimize the potential spread of COVID-19. We are the youth ministry of Northgate Church. At Youth, our mission is all about connection. We want students to find a safe place to connect with other students, with leaders who care about them, the Church, and most importantly, with God. Our leaders love to hang out with students, and we do everything we can to keep Youth a fun and safe place to be.
Throughout the year we have summer events, retreats, and our very own youth conference called Consumed! Click HERE to check out the Consumed website!
In addition to our weekly events, we have social media engagements. We have announcements and content out on our social media platforms for students to engage in. Click HERE for all the social links.
